Frequently Asked Questions
I just placed an order, when will it ship?
We only ship Monday – Thursday, as we don't want live bait sitting somewhere over the weekend. If you place an order before noon on these days, it will likely ship out that day. If there is a backup of orders or if an order is not placed until after noon, the order will be shipped the next day. If you place an order after Thursday, it will most likely be shipped out on the following Monday.
How long will it take to receive my order?
The simple answer is 1-3 business days. However, this is dependent on your location and the selected shipping method. We do not like our live bait to be in transit for longer than 3 days or be sitting somewhere over a weekend. Please contact us and we can tell you exactly when you should receive an order.
Which shipping company do you use to deliver live bait?
We exclusively use UPS to ship live bait. We have found that UPS is by far the most reliable and time sensitive, which is of course imperative when shipping live bait.
I received my bait, what do I do to keep it alive the longest?
If you go on this website to the individual product that you purchased, there will be directions and recommended temperatures to keep your live bait alive and healthy.
How do you keep the bait alive during transit?
We look at the temperatures for the delivery destination of the bait to determine the best packing to keep the bait alive. During the summer, it may be determined that ice packs are needed in the packaging. An additional $2 per ice pack may be added to your order if deemed necessary. If the weather is cold, we may fill the boxes up with sawdust to insulate the bait, as well as double up on boxes. If it is deemed to be too hot or too cold to ship your order to you, you will be contacted.
What do I do if my bait seems to be dead upon arrival?
If it is hot out and your bait seems dead when it arrives, please open up the package and stick the bait in the refrigerator. Monitor it for a few hours, as often times this can help revive the bait. Likewise, if your bait appears dead upon arrival in the winter, unpack the box and let the bait warm up. Live bait will often go dormant when cold, so a little warmth will bring it right back to an active state. If doing these things does not help, please contact us within 24 hours with photo evidence, and we will either refund your order or send you out fresh bait.
